About Ernest Hori
When I was a kid, I was the one in the family that took the vacation photos. I was always facinated by photography. But it wasn't until I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force that I had the chance to develop my first roll of film at the base hobby shop. While stationed overseas I even built my own darkroom by mail order.
After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Theory. With my G.I. Bill used up, I decided to get serious about photography. But first I had to go on the best motorcycle trip I ever took.
For the next nine years I worked in a professional photo lab that specialized in film processing and custom printing. For four years after that I was the Lab Manager for Fuji Film in Hollywood. When Fuji closed the lab in 1995 I started my own business, Horizen Foto, featuring my fine art photography and video productions.
My photography has been accepted into the Beverly Hills Affaire in the Gardens Art Show, the La Quinta Art Festival, the Contemporary Crafts Market Santa Monica and many other local art shows.
Horizen Foto continues to offer Fine Art Photography as well as video productions. My focus is offering the best high-quality, creative images and video I can. If I can be of service to you, please let me know.
