HORIZEN FOTO - the zen of fine imaging
It was 37 years ago when I developed my first roll of black and white film. Photography sure has changed since then. The photographer still has to compose the photo and press the shutter, but now computers give the photographer much more control than ever before. Currently my fine art photography is evolving into a combination of traditional methods/techniques with modern digital imaging. I shoot on film with a 4x5 view camera. Then I scan the film and use Adobe Photoshop to adjust the image. The reason I still shoot with a 4x5 camera is because it takes better pictures. The reason is because the lenses on my 4x5 camera are much better than what's on digital cameras. Yes there are digital backs for view cameras but these are not practical in the field, not to mention their astronomical prices.l I have hundreds of sheets of 4x5 film that I have shot over the years. As with any craft, the challenge is mastering the tools to create your vision. This site represents everything I have learned so far.
The Nature and City Galleries showcase my fine art photography. Other services I offer include photography, videography, and web development. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of service to you.
