HORIZEN FOTO - the zen of fine imaging
It was 37 years ago when I developed my first roll of black and white film. Photography sure has changed since then. The photographer still has to compose the photo and press the shutter, but now computers give the photographer much more control than ever before. Currently my fine art photography is evolving into a combination of traditional techniques with modern digital imaging. I shoot on film with a 4x5 view camera. Then I scan the film and use Adobe Photoshop to adjust the image. The reason I still shoot with a 4x5 camera is because it takes better pictures. Another reason is because the lenses on my 4x5 camera are much better than what's on digital cameras. Yes there are digital backs for view cameras but these are not practical in the field, not to mention their astronomical prices.
The Nature and City Galleries showcase my fine art photography. Please feel free to contact me if would like more information.
